Fresh off the success of their 2009 debut album, This Is The LIfe, Kolohe Kai delivers big with their sophomore effort, Love Town, a project featuring 12 brand new, all original songs composed by group leader Roman De Peralta. The project was produced by Imua Garza and Brett Ortone, the same production team responsible for the band's debut effort. Love Town starts off strong with the title track, an upbeat feel-good number with a positive message, and then continues on a journey showcasing a noticeable musical depth and maturity not heard on the first Kolohe Kai album. Typical Heartbreaker is already heating up the radio airwaves with it's powerful, sing-along chorus and pop/rock cross-over appeal. Guest vocalist Mailani, formerly with the award-winning duo Keahiwai and now a solo artist in her own right, shines on the duet The Lighthouse, a song about a couple who are able to reignite their lost love after drifting apart. The Man I Am, a heartfelt song dedicated to Roman's parents for nurturing him throughout his life. The heartfelt song was debuted at Romans high school graduation party where Roman performed an emotional solo rendition accompanied only by his guitar. Other songs include stories of young love, resisting temptation, love of home and there is even a song about the band itself. The strength of Love Town will increase Kolohe Kai's success in their home state of Hawaii and will help proper them further into the mainstream national and international market.
